Recognizing the importance of having access to a phone and concerned that low-income households may not be able to afford phone service on their own, the federal government created the Lifeline Assistance program in 1985.

Consumers who qualify based on federal or state-specific eligibility criteria can obtain free phone service through the Lifeline Assistance program.

Today Lifeline is still a federal program. Qualifying individuals are eligible to receive one Lifeline discount per household.

We know how important it is to stay in touch with family, be available for job opportunities, and have a phone in case of emergencies.

Access Wireless serves our community by offering free cell phones and service for qualifying customers, through a government funded program. Offerings vary by state.

Eligible users can apply for free cell phones, and also get additional free data with approval from the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP). 

Under the Lifeline program, qualified customers can receive a discount on their monthly wireless service.

Promotional service offer supported by Lifeline. Only eligible consumers may enroll.

Eligibility is based on income or participation in certain government benefit programs and is determined by the National Verifier (documentation may be required).

Lifeline benefit is non-transferable and is limited to one monthly service discount on either wireless or wireline service.
